Obituary

TROUT, Kenneth Gary, 70, of Riverview, departed this life on February 6, 2011. He was born February 25, 1940, in Altoona, PA, the youngest son of Harry and Ethel Fulmer Trout. He is survived by his wife, Melba Susan; children, Robert E. Trout and Carolyn E. Reynolds, and son-in-law, Rich Reynolds; sister, Barbara Gerhart of Altoona, PA; and brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Dolly Trout of Valrico, FL; grandchildren, John and Lauren Reynolds; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Penn State University and worked for 28 years as a Research Chemist at Jim Walter Research Corporation in St. Petersburg. He then worked as a Research Associate at Controlled Release Technologies in Clearwater until his retirement in 2006.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather; gifted scientist; mechanical genius; skilled photographer; voracious reader and collector of books; expert on early rock 'n' roll, with a complete, indexed collection of 45s; master of the grill; beachcomber; grower of tropical plants; carver of tikis, and a builder in stone and wood. In short, he was a brilliant, funny, interesting man who will be missed more than words can say.



Visitation will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, at Serenity Meadows, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m.
