Obituary

On October 28, 2022, Dr. Kay "Kennie" Hardee went to be with The Lord after battling lung infections for several months.  She is survived by her sister, Harlee and her brothers Lou and Cort; her husband, Jim, her son, Eric and his wife, Beth, and her daughter Stacey; and her grandchildren Eric, Hannah, Trevor, and Emma.

Kennie was a loving and devoted family member, friend, Christian, and counselor.  She celebrated life, not as something to be grasped, but as a blessing to be shared.  She made everyone feel wanted and included.  She was wise, creative, and always looking for ways to make life fun.  The beach was Kennies's happy place.  Each July the whole family go together and enjoyed sun, fun, and games with the kids and grandkids.  She especially liked beating "Papa" at card games.  Her grandkids thought it was funny.

Kennie lived her faith through action and shared her faith with love.  She may have been tiny, but she was bold as a lion.  She was a prayer warrior who never gave doubt a seat at the table.  Her faithfulness was contaigious.  In her five decades as a counselor, Dr. Kay encouraged clients to love, forgive, and see others through the eyes of God.  Dr. Kay was more than a counselor; she was a loving friend who took clients by the hand and walked with them through the storms of life.

On Saturday, November 5 there will be a "Celebration of Life" at Overflow Church, 4929 Bell Shoals Road, Valrico. Visitation will begin at 10:30am with the service at 11:00am.  Please join all who were touched by Kennie's love and who shared life with her.
