Kathleen "Kay" L. Gerber, 76, (1943 to 2019), completed her fantastic journey on December 14, 2019, and now knows the secrets of what happens when our time on this earthly plane is completed. A Brandon resident of 47 years, she enjoyed telling stories of 'old' Brandon and gathering family and friends in her home. An accomplished Avon lady for decades, she coveted her President's Club statues.  She enjoyed Elvis, Jeopardy, puzzles, card games, music, and her dog, Lady.  Kay also had quite the 'green thumb' and enjoyed gardening and fresh flowers - except lilies, which made her sneeze.  Hostess to countless memorable holiday celebrations, her home was the hub of the family. Kay was a kind, fun-loving, soft-hearted soul who kept her friends close and her family closer.  If you ask Kay what made her most proud, she would tell you her children were her greatest accomplishment.

She is survived by her three daughters Sharon Lewis (Patrick), Susan Cannon (Keith) and Mary Shea (Mike); grandchildren Allen, Dusti, Michael and Matthew; great-granddaughter Cecily; stepchildren Chris, Frank, Lundy and Lisa; her brothers James, Richard, and Jerry; and her sisters Cindy, Susan and Stasy.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, December 20, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd., Riverview. Interment will be Saturday, December 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillsborough Memorial Gardens, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon. The family asks that you please exclude lilies from any floral arrange ments. Alternatively, donations can be made in Kay's name to LifePath Hospice .
