WELLS, Katherine F. died on November 22, 2007 in Brandon. .Kate ,as she was known to friends and family was born Kate Frye in Whitfield County, Georgia, and was raised in Atlanta where she attended public schools, graduating from Commercial High School in 1939. She was a dedicated homemaker and an actively serving member of Park Road Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, for many years. She and her husband, M.O. "Rip" Wells moved to Valrico, Florida in 1985, to be near family. They became members of First Presbyterian Church of Brandon, Florida, serving in several church ministry areas. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ray Wells and Georgia Wells of Knoxville, Tenn. and by her daughter & son -in-law, Carolyn and Stan McClelland of Brandon, Florida and by five grandchildren; Jennifer Ann Wells, Mary Alice Wells Michael McClelland, David McClelland, and Kevin McClelland. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church of Brandon, 121 Carver St., Brandon. After a memorial service in Brandon, the cremains will be buried at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Snellville, Georgia. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be sent to Park Road Baptist Church, Charlotte, North Carolina, or First Presbyterian Church, Brandon, Florida.
