In Loving Memory of Karen Spangenberg

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Spangenberg, a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother. Karen peacefully departed this life on July 6, 2023, to join her beloved husband Eugene "Spanky" Spangenberg.

Born December 25, 1949 Karen led a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her journey through life was marked by compassion, generosity, and a warm spirit that touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was extremely thoughtful and a constant source of support for her family.

Karen was blessed with two sons who brought immeasurable joy to her life: Phil Biase and his wife Carrie, and Brian Biase and his wife Misty. Karen's heart overflowed with pride and love for her sons.

As a devoted mother and grandmother, Karen doted on her grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will be forever treasured. She leaves behind Bryce, Calie, Gianni, Bella, Fiona, Jayden, and Greyson. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she reveled in their accomplishments and milestones.

Family gatherings were a source of immense joy for Karen, as she relished the moments spent surrounded by her loved ones. Her warm smile, infectious laughter, and genuine interest in others endeared her to all who were lucky enough to call her family or friend.

Beyond her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother, Karen was an active member of her community. Always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many.

Karen's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will live on through the love she shared and the indelible mark she left on the lives she touched.

A visitation to celebrate Karen's life will be held at Serenity Meadows in Riverview July 28, 2023 5-7pm on and a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi July 29, 2023 at 11am.
