Julio F. Cruz, 72, of Brandon, passed away on February 16, 2017. Julio was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the US Army. He went on to work for the Chicago Police Department for 25 years and after moving to FL he was a security patrolman for the University of Tampa. Julio is survived by his loving family, mother, Adelaida Febo; wife, Sylvia A Cruz; children, Nicholas (Debra) Cruz, Patrick Cruz, Phillip Cruz, Adam Cruz, and Jonathon Gonzalez; grandchildren, Bella Cruz, Precious Cruz, and PJ Cruz; sisters, Gladys Moreno and Betsy Moreno; brother-in-law, Joe Gonzalez; and his extended family. There will be a visitation on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Anne's Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery.
