Vintson-McNider, Juanita "Nita", 82, Valrico, FL / Born in Dora, Alabama, May 1, 1931 - February 8, 2014. Nita passed away on February 8, 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimer's and stroke. Nita will always be remembered for her kind heart, warm smile and love of laughter. Nita loved music. She could often be heard singing Amazing Grace, This Little Light of Mine and The Battle Hymn of the Republic, among others; A true testament to her faith and spirit. Before the wrath of Alzheimer's which stole her memory and her life, she could often be heard remarking a favorite phrase of hers: "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition" - spoken like the true Armed Forces wife that Nita was. She was a loving and caring wife, mom and friend who enjoyed life and always brought a smile to those around her. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her. Nita is preceded in death by her father Hickman C. Vintson, mother Amanda Scott Vintson, brother John S. Vintson Sr., and sisters Emogene "Jean" Vintson-Huie, Ms. Toline Vintson, Marjorie Vintson- Richards. Nita is survived by her husband of 56 years, Col. Henry Bennett McNider, III, USArmy Ret., her children Alan Bradley McNider, Pamela Diann McNider-Fisher (husband William C Fisher, Jr.) and her granddaughter Brittany Fisher, along with a host of nieces, nephews and great/great-great nieces and nephews. We will love and remember you always as our saddened hearts are warmed only by the knowledge that your suffering is now replaced with that of peace and rest in heaven with your family. A special thank you to the dedicated and caring members of Life Path Hospice Sapphire Team and the Visiting Angels staff for providing their loving care and support during Nita's last days with us.
