Juanita Moody Hannaway, 87, of Riverview, FL. Juanita, born on the Alafia River, was a lifelong resident of Riverview. She was a descendent of the Sharp family, which moved to Riverview c. 1891. She began attending Riverview United Methodist Church at the age of 7 and officially joined the church at the age of 12. She played piano for church services from an early age, and later became church organist. In 1950 she married Frank L. Hannaway, (1924-2001) and had two children, Frank L. Hannaway III (born 1951) and Alton Arthur Hannaway (1954-2002.) She was caregiver for Arthur, who had Downs Syndrome, until his death. In the late 70's, Juanita entered the workforce and was eventually promoted to an outside sales position with S.P. Richards, a wholesale office supply. Music was always an important part of Juanita's life and she played singalongs at various retirement homes around the county. She taught piano most of her adult life and helped develop a number of outstanding musicians. A woman of deep faith, she spread joy wherever she went. Juanita passed away from Alzheimer's Disease, on December 17, 2017, is survived by her loving son Frank.
A joyous celebration of the life of Juanita Moody Hannaway will be held on December 27, 2017, at 10:30 am, at Riverview United Methodist Church in Riverview. Join us for food afterwards in Crichton Hall. Donations to Lifepath Hospice or the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers if you wish.
