Obituary

Juan Ramón (Monchito) Casiano Díaz

January 1, 1932 – February 23, 2026

In the precious care of Jesus and Serenity Meadows Memorial Park.

Juan Ramón "Monchito" Casiano Díaz entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully while sleeping at his home in Valrico, Florida, on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the age of 94. A man of faith, he lived his life loving the Lord and trusting in His promises.

He is survived by his devoted wife, María Ileana Cuevas‑Pérez, and by his loving children: Rafael, Ricardo, Orlando, and Mary Casiano‑Forteza. Jason Medley honored him and loved him as a father. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Gabriel, Elias, Lucas, Ella, Louisa, Alondra, Nazlie, Nicholas, Samuel, Isaac, Abigail, Marisara, Mariela, Marcos, Andrés, and Sergio and his great‑grandchildren Ezra, Luca, Theodore, August, Quinn, Mia and Victoria.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix Casiano and Josefa Díaz, his sister Jenny Casiano Díaz, and his nephew Javier Morales, whom he lovingly raised as a son.

Born in Maricao, Puerto Rico, Monchito married Ileana on January 6, 1964, in San Juan. He proudly served his country as a Third-Class Specialist in the United States Army during the Korean–American War in 1954. After his military service, he worked as a salesman at Gonzales Padín Department Store, later became a sales manager for the Military PX store in San Juan,Pr. One of his last jobs was at Clubman Clothing Store, fondly remembered for the saying, "Si es de Clubman, se distingue."

He loved a good sermon, and his favorite sport was baseball, especially watching Los Cangrejeros de Santurce and the Atlanta Braves. He loved his family and enjoyed gardening, playing dominoes, feeding people at the house and Mariachi music for his famous birthday parties and was an avid Spanish music dancer. La Navidad was his favorite season, and he was known for his generosity. Part of his legacy was teaching his children to love God, honor La Familia first, and to have a strong work ethic.

His favorite Bible verses were Psalm 91:1–2, which he carried in his heart throughout his life.
