Obituary

It is with profound sadness the family of Joseph Russell (J.R.) DiVincenzo announces his passing on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the age of 55, after a very private and courageous battle with cancer.

J.R. was born in Washington, Pennsylvania on November 5, 1970, to Joe and Mary Jane DiVincenzo. He grew up in Gallatin, TN, attending Gallatin High School, where he played football and graduated with honors in 1989. From there, he attended and graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1994, with a degree in Marketing. After graduating, he moved to the beautiful west coast of Florida, where he has resided for nearly 32 years.

J.R. built a successful professional life in marketing and sales, most recently as a Nuclear Oncology Account Manager at Lantheus in West Florida. He loved his job, developing sincere relationships with colleagues and customers. He was proud to work for a company that directly helped those fighting prostate cancer to find, fight and follow the disease. An inspiring and true testament to his courage and determination, he remarkably achieved President's Club for sales achievements this year while fighting his own battle with cancer.

J.R. is described by those who knew him as a truly good man. He loved helping people and was a natural and determined problem solver. If there was a problem, he'd find the solution. If there was a need, he would fill it. He was quick with a smile and always wanted happiness for others. He would go the ends of the earth to help those he cared about. J.R. was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of nearly 32 years, who was his high school sweetheart; a caring and dedicated father to his daughter; a beloved son to his parents, and a true and loyal friend to other family members and friends. He also loved and was adored by the fur babies we had throughout our family life – Charlie, our dog, who was J.R.'s shadow, and Happy & Lucky, our cats, who were first to make us a family.

J.R. was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing different courses with friends, his favorite being Pinehurst. He was passionate about the personal challenge of golf and was most proud of his personal best - the 73 he scored at Fox Hollow Golf Club. Living in the Tampa Bay area for over 30 years, he was a huge fan of all Tampa sports teams, especially the Buccaneers. He loved taking trips to Disney and the beach with his family. He loved Jesus and was a member of First Baptist Church of Brandon.

J.R. will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia (Trish) Gregory DiVincenzo; his daughter, Jacqueline (Jackie) DiVincenzo; parents, Joe and Mary Jane DiVincenzo; brother, Marc DiVincenzo (Gail), and the numerous nephews, nieces, family members and friends he dearly loved.

The family would like to thank the amazing doctors, nurses and staff at Moffitt Cancer Center for the excellent care J.R. received.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Moffitt Cancer Center or March of Dimes.
