Todaro

Limona Village Chapel
Starts at 11:00 am (Eastern time)
Joyce Lynn Todaro peacefully passed away at 79, early morning on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Her parents, Paul and Josephine Todaro (Florimo) fresh out of serving in World War 2, found themselves expecting their first child, Joyce, to be born on January 27, 1947 in Manhattan, New York City, New York.
When her sister, Pamela, was born in 1952, her parents moved to Bayside, Queens, New York to raise their family. Her mother was a seamstress who would make sure Joyce was dressed in the latest fashions, saving the scraps from her commissioned work. Her father went on to work at a copper plate printing factory, and made ends meet late-night cleaning businesses.
Right out of Bayside HS, she went to “Secretary School.” She wanted to be a modern woman, of course! She got her first full time job working for Time Warner Publishing; becoming Head of Distribution for the East Coast. During those years, she found her love for travel after taking her grandmother, Ignazia, back to Sicily to sell the family vineyards.
She went on to travel the world: Spain, Belgium, Italy, Mexico, Aruba, Hawaii, Greece, Brussels, Holland and even made time for Disney World several times a year, always taking pictures and writing postcard back to the family. In 1992, her company decided to expand to Tampa, FL and she was more than willing to oblige. After the passing of her mother in 2011, she finally retired after 47 years. She continued to do the things she loved: going to church, being with her family, grabbing a meal and shopping, and the love of a good nap. She still loved travel: to the beach, Disney World, or wherever the family wanted to go: cruises, Disneyland, to Wales to see more family. She was always ready for a trip. Even in her last few months, she still wanted to go out and get lunch and browse around the stores “just to look.”
She leaves behind her sister, Pamela Evans, her niece Jacqueline (Zachary) and many family members and friends. Her legacy of kindness, selflessness, desire of adventure, and faithfulness will be what we keep in our hearts as we remember the love we had for each other.
Her Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Limona Village Chapel at 11:00am, light refreshments to follow. Joyce loved to give to charities, if you would like to make a donation in her honor, please think of the SPCA or the Wounded Warrior Project.
