JOYCE LOUISA HAYNES, 85, of Brooklyn, NY, died at her eldest son's residence in Brandon, Florida, on Sunday, March 12, 2017, after battling lung cancer. She was born to the late Aldwin and Esther (Kent) Benjamin, in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago on August 27, 1931. She married the late Darrell Simpkin Haynes on June 18, 1949, and had seven children, Kelvin, Don, Stephen, Selwyn, Robert, Ronald and Ronda. Joyce was a nurse's assistant until she retired in 1999, and was passionate about taking care of her family, especially Robert who lived with her. She loved to cook and bake cakes. Joyce was preceded in death by her grandson, Anthony Haynes and ex-husband, Darrell Simpkin Haynes. She is survived by her seven children: Kelvin (Marie) Haynes, Brandon, FL; Don (Lorraine) Haynes, Brooklyn, NY; Stephen (Jean) Haynes, Bowie, MD; Selwyn (Imsu) Haynes, Newport News, VA; Robert Haynes, Brooklyn, NY; Ronald (Harriet) Haynes, GA; and Ronda (Thurmond) Davis, Dallas, TX. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, her sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and friends.
