Joseph Perez went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
November 17, 2009. He was born December 26, 1956 in Tampa. We are
left behind to mourn the loss of a wonderful man who loved his family
fiercely. Known to family and friends as Joey, he leaves his beloved
Mama-San, Martha Thomley; his son Jason (Bubba-J); his daughters
Devin (Mookie), Toni (Balognie), and Ande Williams (Nanny-Bunkins);
and wife, Boo-Boo Mary. Joe was predeceased by his father Joseph C.
Perez. Joe described what he loved best in life in his 2006 blog
entry "I love getting into the twisties on a real good day on my
motorcycle, and puttin' a hole in a target just where I wanted to put
it with my m1-a. I like doing a good job at work, even though work is
just a mean's of supporting the thing's I love. I love the sound of a
sprint car or a top fuel dragster, I love mechanical thing's and
working on them. But most of all I love the family I have been given,
a good sturdy wife, a great mom, and the best damn kid's anyone could
ever ask for I just plain love being me I'm not for everyone gotta
lot of rough edge's full of the defect's of character, but that's
just the best I can do for now and I love that too, I'll try harder
tomorrow." We know he is "riding the twisties" on streets of gold and
he's finally found the peace that surpasses all understanding. There will be a memorial mass on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Seffner. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
