Joseph J. “Joe” Morgitan 

May 23, 1947 – September 1, 2026

Joseph J. Morgitan, known to most simply as “Joe,” passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on May 23, 1947, Joe was born and raised in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, where his roots and family remained an important part of who he was throughout his life.

Joe was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He shared 47 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Anita, with whom he built a life filled with love, family, and memories. Their life together was a testament to the enduring love and commitment they shared.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Anita; his daughters, Michele Griffin and her husband, Ryan, and Melissa Prichett and her husband, Ian; and his beloved grandchildren, Brooklyn Griffin and Noelle Prichett, as well as Paris and Penny Griffin, who all brought him immense joy and pride. He is also survived by two sisters, Lillian Hewitt (Josh) and Mary Welsh (Gary). As well as other beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was also pre-deceased by four siblings.

Joe proudly served four years in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. His dedication to God and his country was an important part of his life and something his family will always honor and remember. Following his military service, Joe worked for General Electric and Lockheed Martin was a part of their Aerospace divisions.

In 2006, Joe and Anita made Brandon, Florida, their home. There, they continued building a life surrounded by family and friends.

Joe found happiness in the simple things that made life meaningful. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a passionate football fan, proudly cheering on Penn State and his Philadelphia Eagles. But above all, Joe treasured his family. His greatest joy was spending time with the people he loved, watching his family grow, making memories, and simply being together.

Joe will be remembered for the love he gave so freely, his loyalty to his family and friends, his pride in his country, his faith in God, and the many stories and memories he leaves behind. He was a man who valued family, tradition, hard work, and the people who mattered most to him.

Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, Joe’s love and legacy will live on through Anita, his daughters, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, and all those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
