Mayer, Joseph 82, passed away peacefully on August 4th, 2010. Joseph, oldest of two brothers, was born in Pcs, Hungary and served in the Hungarian Army. In 1956, he immigrated to America during the Hungarian Revolution to pursue the American Dream and live in freedom. He worked diligently and ultimately lived his dream of becoming a business owner. For 19 years, he and his wife lovingly owned and operated the Pioneer Motel in Sarasota, FL. Joseph is survived by his loving and caring wife of 50 years, Aloisia (Lucy); daughters, Maria Edwards and Margaret (Lonnie) Moore; five granddaughters, Rachel, Katie, Jessica, Diana and Lauren. The funeral service will take place at 2 pm on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior.
