Joseph Paul Holt, 34, of Riverview, passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2022, at his home in Riverview. Born in Davo del Sur, Philippines, on May 28, 1988, he grew up in many cities as a military child.

Joe was a natural athlete who participated in almost all the major scholastic sports graduating from Pensacola Catholic High School in 2006 as a football star. Joseph is survived by the love of his life Maria "Ruby," sons Gabrielle (Mae), Alvin, Ashken, Rafael, and Kian; daughters Antonette, Queen, granddaughter Margarette; parents Patricia Schworak and Kevin (Maria) Holt; siblings Michael A. Holt, Darlene Holt, Wayne Starling, Gina Starling, Ashley (Matt) Hallmark, Kelsey (Alex) Griffin, Shelby Taylor, Travis Taylor, Savannah Holt, Kevin Holt, Ian Taylor, and many nieces, nephews, and one grandchild.

Joseph was very independent, hard-working, and devoted to family and his faith in God. Joseph always thought of others before himself; his capacity for sheer hard work and selfless service was inspirational. Joseph spent over 11 combined years as an Independent Contractor in Afghanistan supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and was employed by Walpole Trucking at the time of his passing. Joseph holds a AA and is finishing his bachelor's degree from The University of South Florida.

An avid outdoorsman, Joseph loved kayaking, and freshwater fished almost every chance he had. All will remember his spirit and love of life, family, and God. Joseph's viewing will be Thursday, June 23, from 5-7pm, and his Catholic Memorial Mass will start at 9:45am on Friday, June 24. Both ceremonies will be at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home at 6919 Providence Road in Riverview. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity in the name of Joseph P. Holt.
