Stephens, John K Sr., CSM USAR (Ret), 79, of Lithia, passed away on November 26, 2009. John proudly served his country in the Army for 26 years and was an ROTC instructor for 23 years, 13 of which were at East Bay High School. He was a member of Bell Shoals Baptist Church, a Faith Rider, a 32¿ Mason, a Shriner, a member of the Elks Lodge and a Disney enthusiast. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Ann. John is survived by his loving family, wife, Brenda; children, Johnny, Jr., Kristy (John) and Nancy; sister, Anne (Cliff); seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his "Girls", Sophie and Sadie; and an extended family and many friends. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 10:00 am at Bell Shoals Baptist Church in the chapel, with a visitation one hour prior. John will be interred with military honors at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 2:00 pm.
