John Lawrence Polcyn, 68, of Valrico, Florida passed away on August 24, 2025. He was born on October 28, 1956 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to John Polcyn and Helen Brockway Polcyn. Both parents precede him in death. John is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Catherine Holden, his sisters, Karen Ira Polcyn McEvoy and Pamela Polcyn, stepson, Trevor Goff, and stepdaughters, Kate Reider and Sarah Read.

John grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and attended Lancaster Country Day School and The Lawrenceville School and also attended Tulane University.

John managed American Bar and Grill in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and moved to California and managed the Hyatt Carmel Highlands and later, after retirement became a loving caregiver to Katie and Katie a caregiver to him.

John loved to travel, golf, and bowl in his free time. Nothing was more comforting to John than a great meal.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Special Olympics or the ASPCA.
