In Loving Memory of John Kenneth "Uncle Kenny" Pettys
December 17, 1951 – June 21, 2025
This past Saturday, our family lost a legend. John Kenneth Pettys — lovingly known as Uncle Kenny — passed away peacefully in his sleep.
He was a man of quiet strength and deep loyalty, devoted to his country, passionate about fishing, camping, football, and NASCAR, and above all else, committed to his family.
Uncle Kenny worked as a cable specialist for Verizon for over 30 years and was a proud member of the IBEW. After decades of dedicated service, he enjoyed his well-earned retirement surrounded by the people and pastimes he loved most.
He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 54 years, Patricia; his sister, Debbie; his brother, Tony, and wife, Wendy; nephew, Justin (and partner Jade); niece, Taylor (and her partner, Mason — they are expecting their first child, Cal); Patricia's sisters, Sarah Jo King (and her husband, Ken) and Sandra Persinger (and her husband, Wesley); his niece, Kasey (with her husband, Matthew, and children: Kayla, Brandon, Kenzie, Josh, Nikki, Jake, Arrow, and Callie — and great-great-niece, Layla); and Kelly (with her partner, Kenny, and children: Kaitlyn and Chase — and great-great-nieces, Bailee and Anna).
He also leaves behind many more extended family members and lifelong friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Services will be held this Saturday at 11:00 AM at Serenity Meadows.
