John C
Hardaker, Iii
June 1, 1942 — September 23, 2019
Hardaker III, John C, 'Johnny', 77, of Riverview, passed away on September 23, 2019 after a brief, but fierce and courageous battle with cancer. Johnny was born in Mulberry, Florida, on June 1, 1942, and spent his early years in Tampa and Mulberry. He moved to Dundee in the 1960s, and resided there until 2015. He was the owner of Johnny's Body Shop in Winter Haven, where he loved restoring classic cars and later on, painting airplanes. He enjoyed salt water fishing, boating, hunting, restoring old cars and traveling. He was looking forward to watching this year's college football season, and the start of Lightning Hockey. Johnny will be remembered for his quick wit, no-nonsense attitude, his love of John Wayne and Elvis, and his story-telling. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary; his father, John; his brothers, Allan Watkins and Richard Watkins; and his life partner, Susanne Hardaker. Johnny is survived by his loving daughter, Holly (John) Clarkson; his beloved "girls", his cats— Miss Kitty and BB; sister in law, Pat Watkins, and his nieces, Tricia, and Kelly. He also left behind a multitude of friends. A Celebration of Life will be planned within the next few months.
