Dowd, John, 73, of Riverview passed away on October 12, 2014. He was born on September 21, 1941 to the late James and Florence Dowd. John was the husband of Maureen, with whom he shared 51 years of Marriage. He served 22 years in the United States Air Force before retiring and then worked for the Hillsborough County Corrections Office where he later retired. In his spare time he enjoyed general handy man work. Along with his wife, John is survived by three sons; John (Rosanna), Michael (Tina), and Steven (Rachel), sisters; Joan and Marie, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. A Gathering will take place on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 2-3pm. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. A Memorial service will follow at 3 pm.
