John Edward Clement, Sr., 64, of Valrico, FL, passed away on January 31, 2016.

John was born on January 1, 1952 and held the title of the first baby born in 1952 in Raleigh, NC. John held a special place in his heart for North Carolina and always considered it his home.

He spent the majority of his life in Florida working in telecommunications as a database administrator. He met many friends and enjoyed solving the challenges that arose at work. John loved flying small aircrafts as well as model planes. He also loved tinkering with other electronics and studied electrical engineering. He spent many hours flying and working on different models and researching topics he found compelling. He remained an avid learner with a wicked sense of humor until the very end.

John was a devoted husband and father who continually put his family first. John is survived by his loving family, wife of 42 years, Amelia "Amy" Clement; son, John (Rebecca) Clement, Jr.; daughter, Jennifer Lechowich; brothers, George Allen (Cathy) Clement, Herbert Michael (Sheri) Clement, and Charles Pennington (Snow) Clement; and granddaughters, Jessica and Natalie.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, followed by a celebration of his life at 4:00 pm
