Allen, John E., 68, passed away on September 4, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Tampa, FL on July 24, 1947, he lived his entire life in the Tampa Bay area. After graduating from King High School, he served 4 years in the USAF. John retired from GTE after 28 years. During this time he was involved in many organizations. He was member of the Masons Blue Lodge #114, of the Egypt Shrine, and of the ROJ. John enjoyed baseball, golfing, bowling, fishing, flying his paraplane, and riding his Harley. He also enjoyed landscaping and could also be seen mowing Taylor Rd. John is survived by his loving family, wife of 14 years, Sandra J. Allen; daughter, Carla Ann (Douglas) Brown; stepson, Scot Davis; grandchildren, Ciara Brown, Marissa Brown, Cara Brown, Scot Davis, Jr. and Cooper Davis; sister, Linda R. (Howard) MacNeil; nephew, Ric MacNeil; and niece, Karen MacNeil. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11:00 am at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, with a visitation one hour prior.
