Sampson, JoAnn Marie, 66, of Poinciana, Florida, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, JoAnn was a recently retired high school business/technology teacher. She graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown, Ohio, and Kent State University. Following graduation, she spent 25 years as a well-respected and successful high school teacher in Ohio, Maryland, New Jersey, and Florida. Most recent assignments were at Wharton and Freedom High Schools in Tampa, Florida, and Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs, Florida. JoAnn was an avid dog lover, a talented arts and crafts artist and collector, and an enthusiastic shopper. She was a truly beautiful person, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years, Philip Sampson; sons, Scott Sampson ( Christa Sanabria and her son Dylan) of Longwood Florida; Brad Sampson (Lynn and grandson Alden) of Tampa, Florida; sister, Betty Ann Adornato of Harrisonburg, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. Her parents, Albert and Mary Kubina, preceded her in death. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview, Florida. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Valrico, Florida. Interment will be at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park.
