Cuervo, Joan, 84, of Riverview passed away on June 11, 2015 with her family by her side. Joan was born on January 31, 1931 in St. Petersburg, Florida to the late Robert and Etta Mae Burns. Joan was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Thomas, who passed away in 1990. Joan loved to crochet and garden in her spare time. She had a passion for playing bingo. Her most cherished time was being gathered around by family and friends. Joan is survived by a daughter Teresa C. (Timothy, deceased) Gilmartin, son Joseph Thomas (Angela) Cuervo, Jr., brother Robert (Dee) Burns, grandchildren; Sean Thomas (Michelle) Gilmartin, Andrea Gilmartin (Rudy) Keezer, Helena (Derek) Williams, Dana (Craig) Eddy, and Joseph Thomas (Hanna) Cuervo III, great grandchildren; Tyler Williams, Reece Williams, Timothy Gilmartin, Samuel Gilmartin, Landon Cuervo, Quinn Eddy, Natalie Keezer, and Brody Cuervo, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Funeral service will take place on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 12pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. The family will receive guests from 11:30am to the start of the service. Burial will take place at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.
