Jimmie Nell Dewrell Rudd, aged 82, from Valrico, FL, formally Florala AL, crossed that river to find her little cabin in the woods in the corner of Gloryland.

Jimmie Nell was born December 4, 1936 to her parents Loe D Dewrell and Clydie Pearl Curenton Dewrell of Florala, AL.

She attended several different elementary schools in South Alabama and Northwest Florida. She graduated from Covington County High School in Florala where she was a popular student and cheerleader captain for the 1954 Wildcat Football Team.

She married Rodney Lavon Rudd on September 4, 1955 a week after he completed the Air Force boot camp. During Rodney's 21 years of service she and the family followed him to overseas bases in Newfoundland, Libya, and Germany. She was a loving at home mother and a Red Cross volunteer. In West Central Florida she and Rodney were well known square dancers. She also enjoyed playing games on the computer, putting puzzles together, and crocheting.

She is predeceased by her parents, Loe D and Clydie Pearl, brothers, George Wayland Dewrell and Martell E Dewrell.

Jimmie Nell is survived by her husband Rodney Rudd of Valrico, FL, son Terry Lavon Rudd of Valrico, FL, two daughters, Vickie Gail Rudd Gause (Jack) of Plant City, FL and Sandra Lynn Rudd Holcombe (Mike) of Lithia, FL, seven grandchildren, Tiffany, Heather, Joshua, Shane, Jesse, Nathan, and Rachel, 14 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, Amber, Shelby, Haley, Maddie, Mikey, RJ, Nathan, Kaleb, Brandon, Emily, Mason, and Noah, and one brother of Florala, AL, Billy Ray Dewrell.

There will be a visitation on Monday, July 15, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, with a graveside service on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 10:30 am at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park.
