IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jessica Leigh
Miller
February 5, 1987 – November 26, 2022
Jessica Leigh Miller, 35, of Valrico, Florida, passed away unexpectedly at her home on November 26, 2022. Jessica was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 5, 1987, and moved to Valrico with her family in 1996. She graduated from Bloomingdale High School in 2006. Jessica is survived by her mother, Tammy Miller; father Jon Miller (Dana – Jessica's second mother); siblings Kristin (Jason) Ward, Matthew (Sasha) Neil, and Haley Neil (Jamie); grandmother Patricia Yeakle; nieces Kayleigh and Leyna Ward, and Celine Neil; nephew Lucas Neil; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. Jessica was preceded in death by her sister, Staci Brooke Miller; grandparents Jack and Wanda Miller; and grandfather, Phillip Yeakle.
Jessica was the most amazing gift God ever gave to her loving family, friends, and our world. Her smile, laugh, sense of humor, and unconditional love for others always shined through to everyone she met. She loved to sing and dance and thoroughly enjoyed all types of music – and especially treasured inspirational gospel songs. Jessica had a wonderful sense of adventure – she enjoyed traveling, riding the biggest roller coasters, and never shied away from any challenge in life. She adored and had a special connection with animals, especially her dogs Molly and Indy. Jessica worked for several retailers over the years, most notably at Macy's and Steinmart, where she received distinguished service awards. She was a proud, accomplished Special Olympics athlete – participating in tennis, swimming, and bowling. She earned dozens of awards and medals at all levels of competition, highlighted by winning several state championship gold medals. But she would tell you her greatest accomplishment and treasure in life was being a child of God. She was an active member of Bell Shoals Baptist Church where she rejoiced in worshiping Jesus as she participated in the church choir and brought a special light to her HOPE program.
Jessica's memorial service and celebration of life will be held at Bell Shoals Baptist Church, Valrico, FL, on Thursday, December 1, 2022. Visitation will be from 10:00am – 11:00am, followed by the memorial service. Once concluded, we will proceed to Serenity Meadows Memorial Park, Riverview, FL, for graveside ceremonies. Guests are invited to return to Bell Shoals for a luncheon celebration for Jessica afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tennis For Fun (tennisforfun.com) in support of Special Olympics, or, to the Trident program (high5inc.org), which is a camp Jessica attended for many years which supports the development of young adults with special needs.
