Jeffrey
Brightwell
March 2, 1959 — June 20, 2026
Jeffrey Robert Brightwell, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on June 20, 2026, at the age of 67.
Born in Winter Haven, Florida, Jeff was the cherished son of the late Robert J. "Bob" Brightwell and Kathleen (Keith) Brightwell. He made his home in Riverview, Florida, for the past 32 years, where he became a well-known and beloved member of the community.
Jeff was known throughout the neighborhood as the resident Pit Master and dog-treat giver. Whether he was smoking a brisket, grilling for family and friends, or greeting neighbors on their evening walks with treats for their four-legged companions, Jeff's generosity and warmth brought people together. It wasn't uncommon for neighbors to stop by for great food, good conversation, and a laugh. His home was a gathering place where everyone felt welcome.
Jeff took pride in his work and deeply valued the friendships he built throughout his career. He was respected for his dedication, dependability, and willingness to lend a helping hand. More than anything, Jeff cherished the relationships he formed and the people he worked alongside.
Above all else, Jeff was devoted to his family. He shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Eileen "Hirsch" Brightwell. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, dedication, and countless cherished memories. Jeff was also a proud father and adoring grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He treasured family gatherings, holidays, and creating lasting memories with his grandchildren.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Eileen "Hirsch" Brightwell; his son, Robert A. Brightwell and wife Cassandra; his brother, Scott Brightwell and wife Debi; and his two cherished granddaughters, Briella and Brynleigh Brightwell. He is also survived by many extended family members, friends, neighbors, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness and friendship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. "Bob" Brightwell and Kathleen (Keith) Brightwell, as well as his beloved parents-in-law, Daniel "Danny" Hirsch and Grace "Harriett" Hirsch.
Jeff will be remembered for his generous spirit, his sense of humor, his love of family and friends, and his remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the memories he created, and the love he shared so freely.
A Celebration of Life honoring Jeff will be held on July 25, 2026, at The Landing in Apollo Beach. Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories, celebrate his life, and honor the lasting impact he had on all who knew and loved him.
