Obituary

Jeffery Todd Case, 61, peacefully passed away on July 16, 2020 surrounded by love and his family. Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Harold (Chuck) and Helen Case as well as his brother Duane (Wayne) Case. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jane Case, his 2 daughters Becky Case (Tommy Glisson) and Stephanie Shreves (Nick Shreves) as well as his brother Harold Case (Debbie Case) and 5 grandchildren that he referred to as his kids, Destiny, Dalton, Devin, Julia, and Sophia (who was also known as best friend). Jeff had many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and made friends anywhere he went. He was a role model to so many.

Though Jeff was born in Muncie Indiana, he lived the majority of his life in Gibsonton, Florida where he worked for 26 years in the warehouse and as a truck driver at Americold Logistics. He was a very hard working man who also had his own vending and lawn care business. After retiring in 2008, he would spend his time being a real American picker, visiting auctions and yard sales finding treasures that he would bring home and resale. He always knew how to get the best deals, and truly was a wheeler and a dealer.

Jeff loved many things, but most of all he loved his family. He never missed an opportunity to tell them how proud he was of them or how much he loved them. He cherished life and taught us all so many valuable lessons. He showed us that above all, his family was his priority. Some of his best times were spent building things with his grandchildren, going on random trips, where he would play Mustang Sally while his kids played air instruments, and more recently getting his boat ready for the water. Jeff enjoyed going for long rides with his wife and eating at new restaurants. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, camping, and going to the movie theater (Even though he would sleep through the movies). On a normal day, Jeff would start with breakfast and coffee with his friends at Showtown, and at 3:00pm you could always find him watching Judge Judy.

The memories that we have with Jeff will remain in our hearts forever. While we grieve the loss of one of the most outstanding men in time, we will lean on Christ as in Colossians 3:15 he has instructed us to "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful." We will celebrate the life he lived and be thankful for the time that we were given. We will always keep an eye to the sky as his best friend (Sophia) says "He's flying in the sky and watching us."
