Janet R. Funk, of Valrico, FL (formerly of O'Fallon, IL), whose warmth and generosity touched countless lives, passed away at her home on May 24, 2025.  Born on January 18, 1945, Janet, referred to as "Rae" by many who knew her, lived a life marked by selflessness, creativity and an unwavering devotion to her family and friends.

Janet was the beloved wife of Dale M. Funk with whom she shared 57 years of love and companionship.  She was a loving, supportive and incredibly helpful mother to her children, Tracy M. DiPrima (née Funk) and Brian M. Funk, and to her son-in-law Matthew T. DiPrima.  Her role as "Nana" to her cherished grandchildren, Ryan DiPrima and Brooke DiPrima, was one she embraced with immense joy, spending quality time and creating lasting memories with them.

Janet truly knew no strangers. She possessed an infectious smile and laugh and could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere and at any time.  Janet had an enormously generous spirit and there was nothing she would not do for her family and friends.

She also had an exceptional eye for fashion and design.  Later in life, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and started her own commercial and residential interior design business.  Her real passion, however, was helping her friends with projects, both big and small.  Janet also enjoyed making exquisite wreaths, ornaments and flower arrangements for family and friends.

Her legacy of kindness, creativity and boundless generosity will continue to inspire those she left behind.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jeanette and Raymond F. Daniels and by her brother Michael R. Daniels.

Pursuant to Janet's wishes, cremation services were held.
