IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janene L
Maddock
October 9, 1948 – June 5, 2025
Janene Redkey Maddock, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and devoted servant of Christ, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, in Town & Country, Florida, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 76 years old.
Born on October 9, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio, Janene moved with her family to Tampa in 1957, where she would spend most of her life bringing joy, faith, and kindness to all who knew her.She leaves behind her loving children: Richard Maddock, Janea' (John) Klein, and daughter-by-heart Christine Pankey. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Taylor Lineberger, Ryan Maddock, Jordan Maddock, Joshua Klein, and Jacob Klein; step-grandchildren: Maryann Klein, Macaulay (Shelby) Klein, and Kevin Barreiro; and beloved step-great-grandchildren: Sofia, Lydia, RJ, Delilah, and Hazel Klein.
She is survived by her brother Allen (Gail) Redkey; sister Janette (Mike) White; Sister-n-law Pamela Loescher and sister-by-heart Sandy (Martin) Pedersen. Many Nieces and Nephews and their families. Janene's life was a radiant testament to unwavering faith and selfless service. A joyful and faithful follower of Jesus, she shared His love through decades of involvement in her church, most recently Life Church in Wesley Chapel. Under the guidance of Pastor Edward Russo and his family—Janis, Kevin, Brian, and Megan—Janene found great purpose in ministry, leading children's choirs and Vacation Bible School programs. Her creativity and musical gifts touched countless young hearts. Her servant's heart extended far beyond the church walls. Whether delivering meals through Meals on Wheels, volunteering with PAL football and Little League baseball, or managing high school concession stands and fundraisers at Land O' Lakes High School, Janene poured her energy into helping others.
She enjoyed a successful career in retail, particularly in jewelry sales, ultimately becoming a regional manager for the international jewelry company R.N. Koch. Her career took her across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, yet her heart remained rooted in home and family. After the devastating loss of her father and husband just a month apart in 1994, Janene leaned into her faith and created lasting memories with her mother, forming an unbreakable bond.
In the same year, she began working for Catherine's Retail Clothing, first in Tampa and later in Brandon, FL, where she was promoted to Assistant Manager. She spent 25 cherished years in Valrico's Twin Lakes of Brandon community, living beside her daughter and son-in-law and their children, while sharing a home with her son and his family—years rich with love, laughter, and faith.
Janene's life was marked by small, tender acts of love: handmade crafts, costumes for church plays, heartfelt prayers in a well-worn notebook, and cheerful greetings as she walked her beloved Yorkie, Max. She never met a stranger—only friends she hadn't yet made. Her warmth, hugs, and ready smile were gifts to all.
A lifelong Disney enthusiast, Janene especially treasured her annual family trips to Walt Disney World. With her daughter born on the day Magic Kingdom opened, the tradition began early and became even more special as grandchildren arrived. The joy of Disney through their eyes created memories the family will forever hold dear.
Even as Alzheimer's dimmed her memory, Janene's spirit remained radiant. Her prayers stayed clear and powerful, and her faith in Jesus never faltered. She will be remembered for her deep faith, generous heart, and the light she brought to every life she touched—a true reflection of God's love.
A memorial service will be held at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd, Riverview, FL 33578, on Saturday, June 21. The family will receive visitors beginning at 9:30 AM, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 10:30 AM in the funeral home chapel.
In honor of Janene's vibrant spirit and her favorite color, red, the family invites guests to wear something in the red color family—whether red, pink, rose, burgundy, or maroon—as we gather to celebrate her legacy and rejoice in the promise of eternal life she so faithfully believed in.
