Jane Marie Worthen
July 1, 1942- February 28, 2025

Jane Marie Worthen, a loving mother and grandmother ascended into heaven on February 28, 2025. Born on July 1, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, Jane moved to Tampa with her mother and sister and attended Plant High School. She was fun, caring, determined and independent. She loved her horses and cows and all the animals that found their way to her home. She loved the beach, she loved to dance, she loved hosting family gatherings. She loved God and her church, Bell Shoals Baptist, was a big part of her life.

Most of all, Jane loved her family. She lived a life filled with a tremendous passion to adopt and care for her 33 children. Known for her love of children, she dedicated her life to taking care of others. She was a foster parent for 37 years and gave a forever home to 29 children. She was recognized in Hillsborough County as the Foster Parent and Adoptive Parent of the Year.

She's preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents Robert and Mary Evelyn, her uncle Jack and aunt Dorothy, her son Guy, her daughter Keegan, her grandson, Ryan, and her sister, Pat Rodriguez.

She is survived by 31 children, Leslie, Paul, Vince, Shelby, Dawn, Lindsey, Lainie, Morgan, Mallory, Carlie, Curtis, Collins, Alexis, Avery, Taylor, Brooke, Jaimie, Jensen, Madison, Emily, Jenna, Hayden, Cameron, Christian, Savannah, Matt, Sam, Gracie, Rosalie, Emma and Isaiah, 52 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Jane made an indelible mark on this world. Though deeply missed, Jane is now
experiencing the beauty of heaven where she can watch over her family as a guardian angel.

A service celebrating her amazing life and legacy will be held on Friday, March 7 at 3:00 PM at Bell Shoals Baptist Church in Brandon, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to a GoFundMe account for her two younger children. https://gofund.me/d96a9282
