Jan G. Lucas, 41, of Riverview, Florida was rewarded her journey home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 1, 2017. Jan G. Lucas was born on July 12, 1975 in Gulfport, MS. She was the second child born to Nathaniel and Willie Ann Magee. Jan accepted Jesus at a young age and over the years she cultivated her personal relationship with Christ whom she acknowledged and reverenced as her Lord and Savior. Jan loved to sing and worship God and she attributed ALL her success to God giving Him ALL the glory. Jan was a graduate of Harrison Central High School (HCHS) class of 1993.
She loved playing the flute while in the high school band and due to her efforts eventually earned First Chair. She attended Gulf Coast Community College Perkinston Campus after graduating from HCHS. Jan started her career at a young age in the retail industry. She was very hard working and was promoted very quickly through various retail companies including; Rainbow, Foxmoor, and the Limited. Jan started her career as a sales associate and her excellent performance and passion for the industry was recognized and she was quickly promoted to Management which provided her with the opportunity to relocate to Florida. Jan had a unique passion for helping people and she worked in Sales and Management for over 20 years and received her Real Estate License in April of 2006. Jan was a prominent Real Estate Agent in the Tampa Bay Area and South Shore Florida. During her 11years as an Agent, Jan received many rewards, honorable mentions, and customer testimonials for excellent service and outstanding work ethic. Jan began her career in Real Estate as a General Real Estate Agent with Century 21 Shaw where she was recognized for being the first agent to sell three homes during the 6 week training period and she also worked with Charles Rutenberg Realty. Jan eventually transitioned to New Home Sales beginning with Adams Homes, where she was the top performing sales agent in the entire company, she worked at Homes by WestBay, and the majority of her time and experience with New Home Sales was with Tampa Bay's number one Builder Lennar Homes, where she received the Rookie of the Year Award and many others. Jan was a self-learner and very passionate and once she made up her mind to do something she did just that. Her motto in everything was "I Trust God" and she lived by that daily. Jan married the love of her life on June 17, 2001. She enjoyed being a wife and a strong supporting woman of her husband while going above and beyond to make the house, a Home. Jan and Brian enjoyed vacations and traveling all over the world together. She also loved taking care of her beloved "Browney". Jan loved family and UNITY among family was very important to her. Jan is survived by her devoted husband of almost 16 years Brian P. Lucas of Riverview, FL; her parents Nathaniel and Willie Ann Magee of Gulfport, MS; one sister Fundrial (Wilfred) Odom of Gulfport, MS; two brothers Gregg (Irene) Magee, Sr. of Gulfport, MS and Corky (Starr) Magee of Melissa, TX; her mother-in-law Sandra Lucas of Wimauma, FL; sister-in-law, Victoria(Joseph) Haner of Gulfport, MS and two brothers-in-law, David(April) Hayes of Gulfport, MS and Joshua(Patricia) Hayes of Ruskin, FL; eight nieces, Spindle, Ieshia, Jaziya, Charity, Theresa, Riley, Thandiwe and Jaelyn; eight nephews, Cameron, Gregg Jr., Corky Jr., Caleb, Nathaniel, Austin, Angel, and Joel; two great nieces Ashlyn and Izzabelle; one great nephew Jayden; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers, and friends. The Family would like to thank you for your love, comfort and support during this time.
