IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James "Jimmy"
Youngman
February 20, 1945 – July 18, 2025
James "Jimmy" C. Youngman, a lifelong resident of Adamsville, Florida, passed away at his home on July 18, 2025, at the age of 80. Born in Tampa, Florida, on February 20, 1945, Jimmy spent his entire life on the family property in Adamsville, a place that shaped his character and passions.
Jimmy's career was as diverse as his interests. He began his professional life at the Hillsborough County Tax Assessor's Office, before joining his stepfather, Kip Bowles, at Interior Woodworks, where he built custom cabinetry. He ultimately transitioned into the construction industry, where he was a Superintendent and Project Manager.
As a young man, Jimmy found immense joy fishing the waters of Tampa Bay. Later in life, that love for Tampa Bay and a deep respect for nature led him to serve as an Audubon Warden. More recently, his passion turned to raising his Florida Cracker Cows, a testament to his connection to the land and its heritage.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Okie Youngman, and his loving daughters, Joy Youngman (James Bernard) and Jennifer Youngman (Jason Walmsley) and his grandchildren, Candice, Emma, Jackson, and Sam. Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, Betty Fields and Jack Jay Youngman, as well as his siblings, Jack Jay Youngman Jr., and Gloria Naugle.
A visitation with the family will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 6:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church - Gibsonton. Jimmy will be laid to rest at Hackney Cemetery in Riverview, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Moffitt Cancer Center or Lifepath Hospice, organizations that provide invaluable care and support.
