Sloan, James Edward, "Jim" 59 of Brandon, Florida Entered into rest on September 10, 2006. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mr. Sloan was a resident of Brainerd, Minnesota before moving to Florida. He was of the Lutheran faith and a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Sloan was an award winning journalist, whose career covered over 32 years in the news business, a devoted husband and father Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years Peggy and their son Carey Sloan, of Brandon, Florida. His brothers Ken (Laurel) Sloan of Minocqua, Wisconsin, John (Sandy) Sloan of Maple Grove, Minnesota and Gary (Patti) Sloan of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. A sister; Peggy Petty, of Idyllwild, California. His granddaughter Camryn Carlson. A Visitation for Mr. Sloan will be held, Thursday evening; Sept. 14, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, Florida 33569 (813) 677-9494.
