James J Melin of Riverview Florida passed away on October 6 ^th , 2020. James was born on July 1 ^st , 1938 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 35 years, Ruth E Melin of Caro MI, his sister Mary Lou Chalin, and brother in law Allen Dale.

James is survived by his second wife of 24 years, Janice Melin of Riverview Florida, his children and their spouses Joseph & Cathy Melin of Linwood MI, Ella & Tim Ruprecht of Vassar MI, Jeff & Pam Melin of Troy MI, John & Jeannie Melin of Aldie VA, Antionette & Steve Prabucki of Zilwaukee MI, Judith & John Vudures of Unionville MI. His stepchildren and spouses Walter & Oleta Rutherford of Romulus MI, LaDonna & James Aliff of W VA, Robert & Betsy Rutherford of Elizabeth PA, 20 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

James was a retired forest fire officer for the Department of Natural Resources in Michigan. He was a devoted husband, brother, father, and grandfather to all his family. He loved to cook, travel, and work on various houses he has owned through the years in Michigan and Florida. He enjoyed visiting with his many friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all for his generous heart, wonderful sense of humor and his loving nature.
