James "Jim" Massaro was born on May 1, 1951 in Tampa, Florida to Dorothy Black Massaro and Sam Massaro. He departed this life on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Lifepath Hospice house in Ruskin, Florida.

Born in Tampa Florida, Jim graduated from Brandon High School in 1969, where he was captain of the baseball team his senior year. He served in the National Guard from 1970-1976.

He was preceded in death by his parents Sam Massaro and Dorothy Black Massaro, and his sister Rose Tucker. Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years Cheryl Massaro, daughter and son in law, Erin & Micah McDowell, grandson Aiden McDowell, brothers in law Clair, Ken, and Barry Redmond, and nieces and nephews.

Jim was a farmer/rancher in Hillsborough County for 53 years. He was a member of the Hillsborough County Cattleman's Association and also a member of Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church. Jim enjoyed collecting memorabilia from old western films & tv shows. He loved his country and was proud to be an American. He was also an avid Florida Gators and New York Yankees fan.
