Long, James A. "Alan", 61, of Brandon passed away on September 27, 2016. Alan was born in Savannah, GA. on June 28, 1955 to Iris M. and Thomas G. Long, Jr. He graduated from the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music. He had a passion for music and was an accomplished organist. Alan is survived by his mother, Iris Long; brothers, Greg, John and Steve (Cindy); sister, Marcia (Gary) Schaefer; nephew, Gary Schaefer; nieces, Lori Schaefer and Kristen (T.C.) Allen; and one great niece, Lily Allen. A Funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Friday, September 30, 2016 at The Chapel of First Baptist Church of Brandon. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until service time. Interment will follow in Serenity Meadows Memorial Park.
