Obituary

James D. Lanterman, 92, passed away peacefully at home in Brandon, Florida on April 18, 2021, while surrounded by his family.

Born March 20, 1929, in Newton, New Jersey , Jim served with the United States Marine Corp where he began his career as an auto body technician. After leaving the service, Jim opened his own local body shop in Newton where he took great care of family and friends.  Jim would eventually retire from auto body work and later relocate to Florida to pursue a career in real estate.

While working as a real estate agent, Jim met Darlyn who later became his loving wife of 37 years.  The two built a wonderful life together, traveling the country, enjoying many activities together and making precious memories along the way.

Jim had a love of all sports, especially baseball and the Brooklyn Dodgers.  As a young boy, Jim was known to skip school, hop on the subway, then work the turnstiles at Ebbets field in order to attend a game.  His love of the game led him to visit dozens of professional baseball stadiums and witness many historical moments.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents James D. and Marion Gertrude Lanterman, Sisters Doris Lanterman Biasi and Marion Lanterman.

Jim is survived by his wife Darlyn E. Lanterman, Brandon, Florida, Sister Carol A.
