BYRD, James Daniel, born February 14, 1944 in Kingsport, TN resided in Florida since 1953, went to be with our Lord Christ Jesus on January 14, 2009. He is survived by: his devoted wife, Freda "Kandy" Byrd, of 44 years; his sons, James Byrd II, Kevin Byrd, and Keith Byrd; daughter-in-laws, Janet Byrd and Cynthia Byrd; grandchildren Anna, Ashlee, Mariann, Gavin, and Garrett; great-grandchild, Alivia; brother, Howard Byrd; sister, Shirley Waters. James served in the Navy from 1965 to 1968. He was co-owner of Bay Diesel for 22 years. James will be deeply missed; he was an outstanding human being. He was known most for his generosity and compassion. The family appreciates greatly the services of Dr. Paola, Moffitt Cancer Center, and LifePath Hospice. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd., Riverview. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
