James Lamar Butts was an amazing man who lived a wonderful life. He passed at the age of 87 on April 1, 2015 in his own bed, surrounded by loving family. He is survived by his sister (Betty Joyce), his 3 sons (Jimmy, Don, and Terry), his 5 grandchildren (Jimmy, Jason, Denah, Aaron, and Derek), 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He will be remembered as a powerful patriarch of his family, a loving father and grandfather, an active member of his church, a lover and a fighter, a strong, successful farmer and pipefitter, and most of all an unstoppable flirt and shameless prankster. Dad - Pawpaw - Lamar - Mar you will be missed. Before his wife, Lois, passed she said she was ready to go home. She meant home to Jesus of course. But Lamar promptly informed others that she meant she wanted to "kick the bucket". He always had a way with words and now, he too has kicked the bucket. We know he's running through the woods in heaven, barefoot with his brothers and his bride. A Memorial service will take place on Saturday, April 25 at 1pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. The family will receive guests from 12:30 pm to the start of the service. Graveside service with military honors will take place following memorial service. A reception will follow at 11306 J and B Drive Riverview, Fl. 33578.
