Burns, James R., 79, passed away on November 3, 2017. James enjoyed motorcycles and classic cars. He loved to go fishing and enjoyed volunteering at the church, where he was available to drive the church bus or even mow the lawn. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Estelle Burns; and sister, Billie Jean Markland. James is survived by his loving family, wife of 54 years, Beverly Burns; daughters, Heidi (Jeff) Houser, Hollie (Eric) Whitlock, and Heather Burns; siblings, John D. Burns, and Ophene (Mark) Jones; grandchildren, Bobby Lewis, Lisa Carter, Gary Lewis, Jimmy Loyd, Johnny Loyd, Jeffrey Houser, Jr., and David Houser; great-grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Nathan, Rylee, Aubree, Emma, Annasha, Ava, Paige, and KayLynn. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church, 12846 Balm Riverview Rd, Riverview. The family will greet guests one hour prior. He will be laid to rest at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church in James' name.
