Jack Nowell, 88, passed away December 10, 2010 in Riverview, Florida.
Born in Cambridge, Ohio, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Jack was a Pearl Harbor Survivor on the USS California. He also saw duty in England and Africa and was on the USS Astoria at Guadalcanal and the USS Core. After being discharged from the military Jack met the love of his life and true soul mate, Mary Ann Maddrix. On September 30, 2010 they celebrated 60 years of wedded bliss.
Jack was an avid photographer and took his cameras everywhere he went. He was also an accomplished builder and artist. He and Mary Ann were able to travel extensively and enjoyed visiting family and their many friends. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Mary Ann; sister Betty Rice, Cambridge, Ohio; brother and sister-in- law Dick and Ruth Nowell, Parma, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Clint Doolittle, Stow, Ohio; grandchildren Mercedes Doolittle-Kovar, Colin Doolittle and Zara Doolittle; great granddaughters Nicoley and Sydney Doolittle; the Lyttle and Maddrix families; 3 nieces and 3 nephews. A memorial service with military honors will take place January 2, 2011 in the Pleasant Living Recreation Hall, 10502 Pleasant Blvd., Riverview, Florida at noon. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
