Obituary

Retired Publisher/General Manager of the Tampa Tribune, Jack Butcher passed away on July 20, 2023 at the age of 90. He was born in Westin West Virginia and moved to Florida as a teen. His career with the newspaper spanned more than 50+ years. He is survived by his wife Larilyn, 2 sisters Charlotte Barnhart and Sally Kay Moore, his daughters, Pam Parker, Vicki Moore, Debbie Hernandez, Donna DeVille and Lisa Snow. 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great grandchildren.

Jack served as past President of the International Circulation Members, Interim CFO for the Florida Aquarium, Board of Directors at Advent Hospitals, Board of Directors McDonald House, Board of Directors Tampa Fair Authority and Tampa Bay Partnership Group. Jack was recognized as an honoree for Person of Vision Award. He served with the National Guard and was a member of Kings Avenue Baptist Church. He most recently served his community delivering meals with his wife Larilyn for Meals on Wheels, Brandon. He was a great family man who never missed a family event and took great pride in serving the Tampa Bay area.
