J. Thomas Gibbs, 76, of Valrico, FL and Blairsville, GA, went to be with the Lord on December 26, 2016. Born in Richmond, VA, Tom served honorably in the U. S. Navy and moved to Florida in 1973. He was a member of Coosa Methodist Church of Blairsville, Scottish Rite, Allegheny Masonic Lodge # 114 and Appalachian Shrine Club of Blairsville. Tom is survived by his wife and best friend of 50 years, Brenda Timberlake Gibbs. He is also survived by his children: Michael Gibbs (Jennifer) of Peachtree Corners, GA, Catherine Gibbs Fuhrman (Troy) of Tampa, FL, Stephen Gibbs (Cari) of Richmond, VA, and Paige Perkins of Richmond, VA. He was dearly loved by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Thomas, Jacob, Emily, Caroline, Courtney, Jessica, Joshua, Stephen, Lana and Elliott. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Marchant (Dennis), sister-in-law, Pat Gibbs, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. and a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Serenity Meadows, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, FL 33578.
