December 21, 1939 – March 12, 2022
Joseph "Allen" Carter III, 82 passed away March 12, 2022 at Advent Hospital Wesley Chapel after a long battle with congestive heart failure. Born December 21, 1939 and raised in Tampa, FL, Allen graduated from Hillsborough High School, class of 1958. He played basketball, baseball, and football. Baseball was his favorite sport of all time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irma Jean and Joseph Carter Jr. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judy Wallace Carter, his sister Marilyn Ducharme (John), brother Richard Carter (Marsha). His children, Rhonda Ladoniczki (Bill), Jeff Carter (Trish), Pam Feskowetz (Bill), Grandchildren, Brandon Carter (Kim), Tyler Ladoniczki, McKenzie Williams (Austin), Zack Carter (Julianna) and Peyton Carter. Great grandchildren, Khloe Carter, Kody Carter, and Owen Williams.
Employed with Tampa Tribune for 40 years as a district supervisor and recipient of many awards including supervisor of the year. He enjoyed much success while coaching his son and grandson at south Brandon Little League. He also served as head coach for Brandon Cowboys Youth Football, HCPRD Basketball and officiated for many years with West Coast Officials in both basketball and baseball. He was a 'winner' of many titles in his years of volunteering and was proud of his athletes as he watched them go on to excel collegiately, professionally, and also off the field. He enjoyed attending many youth sporting events to show his support for all of his grand and great grandchildren. He was proud to be "#1 fan" to all of them.
He loved fishing, gardening, and cooking- which his specialty was Spanish Bean Soup AKA "Poppies Yellow Bean Soup". His favorite meals to prepare were for the 'Big Sunday Dinner' for the family to enjoy. He enjoyed watching MLB, cooking shows and of course The Yellowstone series.
