Iris D. Giddiens, 96, of Riverview Florida passed away on August 17, 2024, in Brandon Hospital after a short but complicated illness.

Memorial service will be held 11:00 on Sept. 16, 2024, at Simmions Loop Baptist Church with Pastor Stacey Bowen, Officiating and lunch to follow.

Iris D. Giddiens was born in Washington County, Florida to Priscilla Shores Day and Jacob Day and grew up in Chipley Florida where she attended Chipley High School. She married James R. Giddiens Jr. in Tampa, Florida on January 31, 1948.

She lived most of her life in Panama City Florida where she was a housewife and department store retail clerk until she retired in 2003 and moved to Riverview Florida. She was a member of Simmons Loop Baptist Church and led a women's bible study group for many years and was on the prayer chain for those on need of prayer.

She is preceded in death by Priscilla Shores Day, Jacob Day, Benjamin Day, Juanita Day Brocks Watkins, and James Ralph Giddiens Jr.

She is survived by her daughters Gloria Jean White and Lisa Giddiens and her grandson Darren White

In lieu of flowers donations could be given to Simmions Loop Baptist Church please. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the ER nurses and CVICU nurses at Brandon Hospital for their care during the hospitalization of Iris D. Giddiens.
