Wilkerson, Irene, 92, of Tampa, died on September 2, 2012. Irene was born in Valley Fork, West Virginia to the late Millard and Dulcie Moore on October 24, 1919. She married Wilmer "Blackie" Wilkerson in 1939 and they lived in Akron, Ohio before relocating their roofing business to Tampa in 1960. Irene helped the family business prior to her husband's death in 1977. Later she became "Grandma" to the many children at Lake Padgett Estates Stables where she had two horses for her own grandchildren. Many kids enjoyed riding horses, jumping off the dock into the lake and spending the night at Grandma's house. Irene is survived by her daughters, Patti English, Cindy (Jon) Tallman and Debbie Clark; her 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Her entertaining stories, yodeling and feisty spirit will be missed by all who knew Irene. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Savannah Court Assisted Living in Brandon and LifePath Hospice. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 10:00 am at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service.
