Obituary

Irene R. Peltier, was called home on September 14th, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Irene was born in Sand Beach Township, Michigan, on December 14th, 1924. She's now reunited with the love of her life Robert L. Peltier of 50 years. She was his best friend, his confidante, and caregiver for all those years. Their marriage was an example of true and remarkable love, devotion, and commitment. She loved Nascar racing #88; even went around the Daytona Speedway at 160 mph at 84 years young. She loved baking (she was known far and wide as the best baker of cookies in the world), traveling, baseball games, and bargain shopping; but most of all she loved her family. She was the most loving, devoted wife, mom and the greatest granny in the whole world and she will be missed dearly not only by her family, but hundreds of lifelong extended family and friends. Something she always told us, and one of her favorite saying was "I love you more". Left behind on earth and forever blessed by her love and examples that she provided are her children Richard Peltier (Betty) Lynn Summerlin (Ray) Cathy Vandyke (David) sister Thelma, grandchildren Lisa, Wendy, Christina, Heather, Michelle, and Bryan. Great-grandchildren Katlynne, Tommy, Chelsea, Chloe, Christian, Cory, great-great-grandchildren Violet and Cooper. She was excited about the arrival of her future twin great-great-grandchildren this year Robert and Caleb who will now have their very own guardian angel. She was a lady of great faith who always put the needs of others before herself. She loved the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all of her heart, and now heavens family got a little larger and brighter. While we didn't want for her to leave us, we know she isn't suffering anymore. We know that she saw God on September 14th and that one day we will all be reunited for all eternity. We would like to thank her adopted family at South Bay Hospital, Janet Olsen for your care and love, also Andrew, Ashley, Carol, Shirley, Jeanette, Lisa, Loretta and Claudia for their friendship. And to our loving sister-in-law Betty Peltier for the care and support she gave to Mom all the time and daughter Lynn who cared for her and was by her side constantly. There will be a private family service at a later date. She was a member of the DAV Auxiliary. In her loving memory, please send donations to your local DAV Chapter.
