PHILLIPS, Howell A., 96 of Brandon, passed away Friday, October 31, 2008. Born in Alpharetta Georgia, Howell was a resident of the Tampa area for 76 years, where he loved living his adult life. He leaves behind a family that loved him and will miss him. Predeceased by his loving wife Ruth of 62 years, he is survived by their daughter Jane Wright (husband Larry), grandchildren Deryl Brown (wife Beverly), Andrea Griffin (husband Jim); and three great grandchildren, Cameron Brown, Lacey Brown and Shelby Griffin. Howell retired from Winn Dixie, and was a 32nd degree Mason of the Hillsborough Lodge. He loved greyhound racing and raised many champion greyhounds on his farm in Brandon. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park, 6919 Providence Rd., Riverview. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
